BMC MK II
Blue Sky’s Bass Management Controller is designed to offer
full bass management, calibration and remote volume control
in a convenient, easy to use package. Designed for
professional applications, such as surround music or post
production, the Blue Sky BMC features fully balanced inputs
and outputs, along with ultra high-quality audio
components. The BMC can be combined with Sky System One,
ProDesk or a Big Blue system to create a world class
multi-channel studio monitoring system. Because the BMC
utilizes industry standard bass management circuitry, it is
also compatible with many other studio monitors.

System One 2.1 Configuration
Full
range audio from the original Blue Sky system
Sky System One is the original manifestation of Blue Sky’s
unique approach to accurate, full-range monitoring. Each
100-Watt bi-amplified SAT 6.5 MK II satellite speaker
employs a 6.5" hemispherical driver and 1" Neodymium
tweeter with a dual concentric diaphragm and integral wave
guide. Bass management and level control are incorporated
within the SUB 12 subwoofer which features a single long
excursion 12" woofer and a 200-Watt, low distortion power
amplifier.
System One 5.1 Configuration

Sky System One is the original manifestation of Blue Sky’s
unique approach to accurate, full-range 5.1 monitoring.
Each 100-Watt bi-amplified SAT 6.5 MK II satellite speaker
employs a 6.5" hemispherical driver and 1" Neodymium
tweeter with a dual concentric diaphragm and integral wave
guide. The integral SUB 12 subwoofer features a single long
excursion 12" woofer and a 200-Watt, low distortion power
amplifier. The bass management for a 5.1 system is
incorporated within Blue Sky’s Bass Management Controller
(BMC), which also provides calibration and level control.
Additionally, two BMC's can be combined to expand a 5.1
system, all the way up to 10.2 channels of audio.
Employing Blue Sky’s proprietary computer-optimized
crossover and bass management networks, the Sky System One
delivers seamless full-range audio from the subwoofer to
the main monitors with smooth on and off-axis frequency
response. In addition, the Sky System One is THX pm3®
approved for use in THX pm3® certified studios.
SAT 5 MK II
The SAT 5 MK II is the first significant upgrade to Blue
Sky’s original SAT 5. The MK II version includes several
upgrades, which both increase performance and reliability.
Each SAT 5 MK II features a cast aluminum frame, 5.25"
hemispherical woofer and a .75" dual concentric diaphragm
tweeter with integral wave guide for superior off-axis
response. Powered by two low-distortion 60-Watt amplifiers
with a computer optimized electronic crossover, the SAT 5
MK II Satellites deliver clean, accurate sound with a
reproduction frequency response of 80Hz to 20kHz +3.0dB
(200Hz to 10kHz +1.5dB). On the rear panel there is a Power
Switch, Voltage Selector Switch, Fuse Holder, Gain Control,
12dB Input Attenuator Switch, LED power indicator, 80Hz
High Pass Filter Switch and a balanced XLR Input.
The Blue Sky SAT 5 MK II Satellite speakers are housed in
MDF enclosures and measure a compact 10.88"H x 6.62"W x
11.46"D, weighing 24lbs. (each). The SAT 5 MK II powered
speakers feature full video shielding, perfect for use near
CRT video monitors. The SAT 5 MK II Satellite speakers also
come standard with M6 X 12mm inserts, located on the bottom
of the cabinet, for attachment of OmniMount type 30
(formerly known as the 75 Series) brackets
(www.omnimountpro.com) or Powerdrive WHO 75 type brackets
(www.mypowerdrive.com).

SAT 6.5 MK II
The SAT 6.5 MK II is the first significant upgrade to Blue

The Blue Sky 6.5 features a cast aluminum frame, 6.5"
hemispherical driver and a 1" dual concentric diaphragm
tweeter with integral wave guide for superior off-axis
response. Powered by two custom-designed 100-watt
amplifiers with a highly optimized electronic crossover,
the SAT 6.5 Satellites deliver clean, accurate sound with a
reproduction frequency response of 80 Hz to 20 kHz +/– 3.0
dB (200Hz – 10kHz +/– 1.5dB).On the rear panel there is a
Power Switch, Voltage Selector Switch, Fuse Holder, Gain
Control, 12dB Input Attenuator Switch, LED power indicator,
80Hz High Pass Filter Switch and a balanced XLR Input.
The Blue Sky SAT 6.5 Satellite speakers are housed in MDF
enclosures and measure a compact 12" H x 8" W x 10" D.
Weighing 28 lbs. (each), the SAT 6.5 powered speakers
feature full video shielding, perfect for use near video
monitors. The SAT 6.5 Satellite speakers also come standard
with four 1/4" x 20 inserts, located on the bottom of the
cabinet, for attachment of OmniMount type 60 (formerly
known as the 100 Series) brackets(www.omnimountpro.com) or
Powerdrive WHO 100 type brackets (www.mypowerdrive.com).

extension to your existing nearfield monitors.
In addition the SUB 8 Universal, combined with Blue Sky’s
SAT 5 or SAT 5 MK II, forms the highly acclaimed and award
winning ProDesk™ Monitoring System.

SUB 12 Universal
The Blue Sky SUB 12 was specifically designed to complement
the SAT 6.5 and SAT 6.5 MK II Satellite speakers. Featuring
a cast aluminum frame, 12" forward-firing driver with 2"
voice coil, the SUB 12 has a dedicated 200-watt amplifier
with a frequency response of 30 Hz- 200 Hz +/– 3 dB
(anechoic) and a typical response of 20Hz to 200Hz (3000
Cubic Foot Room). In addition, the SUB 12 has a built-in
2.1 bass management system with a 4th order, 80 Hz
Linkwitz-Riley low-pass filter and 2nd order 80Hz high pass
filter for the satellite. Rear panel functions include:
Right/Left In and Out; SUB In and Out (for connecting
multiple subwoofers); Mute and Phase switches; SUB Gain
& Power LED; Power switch; and Slo-Blo Fuse. Measuring
18"H x 15"W x 20"D and weighing 62 lbs., the SUB 12
features MDF construction with four recessed 1/4" x 20
threaded inserts for either spiked or rubber feet.
The SUB 12 is also fully compatible with Blue Sky's SAT 5 /
SAT 5 MKII and SAT 12*. Additionally the SUB 12 is
compatible with any THX pm3 approved nearfield monitor
SUB 15 Universal
The SUB 15 Universal is a sealed box subwoofer, designed
around a 15” forward-firing driver with a massive cast
aluminum frame, dual 2.5” voice coils - which has almost
2.36” of excursion (peak to peak) and features an enormous
20+ Lbs. motor structure - total driver weight 36 Lbs. One
of the SUB 15 Universal’s unique features is a switchable
low frequency response characteristic, of either 30Hz to
200Hz +/-3dB or, in “extended LF mode”, 20Hz to 200Hz
+/-3dB (anechoic). The extended mode is ideal for large
rooms that don’t exhibit the room gain phenomenon of
smaller sealed spaces. In addition, the SUB 15 Universal
also has built-in 2.1 bass management electronics with both
a 4th order 80Hz Linkwitz-Riley low-pass filter and a 2nd
order 80Hz high-pass filter that is compatible with the SAT
12’s bass-managed input and is also compatible with the SAT
6.5 and SAT 5.
The SUB 15 Universal is also the second subwoofer from Blue
Sky which allows you to add true low frequency extension to
your existing nearfield and mid-field monitors. To
accomplish this, the SUB 15 Universal includes
dualindependently tunable, state variable, high pass and
low pass filters (50hz to 160Hz) with 4th order slopes.
